Lubber Run Park: An Escape From the Everyday Near Your Arlington Apartment
If you only visit Lubber Run Park when there is a performance at the amphitheater, you’re missing out! Lubber Run Park is home to plenty of outdoor recreational options, and that’s more important now than ever as social distancing concerns continue to be a part of our lives. Take advantage of paved and natural walking/jogging paths, well-kept gazebos, and picnic shelters complete with charcoal grills for your next family get together. And with lots of local pools being closed for the season, the stream that runs the length of the park might be your best bet to let the kids (or your dog) splash around to cool off on a hot day. (A team of volunteers monitors the bacteria levels in the water, so be sure to reference the website before you visit.)
The site also allows you to reserve a picnic shelter for special events. While large groups are not admissible at this time, the shelters can hold up to 200 guests – large enough to social distance while still enjoying the company of friends and family. Reserve your shelter today!
